I had a dream about the house right behind where we live. We moved into this house on the slope of a hill with this larger house
above us, maybe 60 yards up the hillside. It was built long before the construction of our newer house down below. It’s very
stately and almost looks like a mansion as it has been designated a ‘protected heritage home’ here in Canada. It is nestled
between big pine trees with a huge sprawling front yard of trees. It’s so magnificent that we have always thought it must have
built by a rather important person in the past. But we just didn’t know anything about them.
The new owner is rather aloof and isn’t that approachable, so we have just stayed our distance and wondered why we kept
getting the impression that there must be something significant about the place and its history. It’s eerie as I have always had
the strangest feeling about this house, ever since we moved in.
Every time I looked up at the house, there was something pulling me towards it. But why did I feel sadness when seeing it, for it
didn’t project evil or fear but almost nostalgia. But because I couldn’t investigate its past or its past occupants, and couldnâ
€™t satisfy my curiosity, I just left it at that, but it still bothered me. And then after being in our new house a few months, I had
this dream one night…….
I saw a little girl of about 8 years old running down the hill towards me from the mansion. She had barely anything on and was
running bare foot. It was cold, but there was no snow on the ground, but still I sensed this bitter coldness. But she was so skinny,
almost like she was starving and shivering from the cold.
We clothed her and feed her and got her warm. She was such a nice sweet little girl. And then she turned and asked me, if she could
have wood for their fire….to warm up their house. So we gathered all the sticks and branches together from our yard and handed it
to her, and gave her a full box of matches.
Yet while I was doing this, I looked up and heard the girl’s mother calling her, she was so worried. She was on their balcony
looking down and calling out to her daughter. And beside her was a butler, who was also calling out for the little girl.
I was then inside their house in my dream. The lady of the house was so beautiful, graceful and elegant. But the whole household
seemed gathered around the inside fireplace, but there was no fire. It was just ashes. And only these three, the lady, little girl and
butler weren’t sick, while the others were just lying there near the fire ….. almost motionless.
They had all been guaranteed. No one was allowed to go out and no one was allowed to come near them, let alone come inside.
They were totally alone and outcast in the middle of this bitter winter and their fire had gone out with nothing to keep them warm.
But things seemed to change, once the little girl returned clothed, fed and with wood and matches. They seemed to have hope once
again. And then the dream ended….. I woke up and prayed that the Lord would take care of them
And now the house no longer haunts me, as if everything is alright up there now. And I really don’t think their spirits are up
there any more. For surely they have been released from their earthly house and surely no longer sick or in need. So maybe if we
give people their physical needs simply because of their need, they can be healed even in the spirit world. Maybe that’s all
these ghosts or spirits needed to be healed and freed…to know that someone cared even if it was only in the spirit and even if it
took place in the future. So maybe their only release was to come to us in the present to plead their need to see if we will help
them and pray for them.
This was my true dream, so help me God, as we should never pass up those in need. And after I had this dream, we did some
research and found out that the house above was built and lived in by a past mayor and his family. And yet, there had been a
tragedy there, as a plague had swept through our city way back at the beginning of the 1900’s and must have also struck
them.....for their spirits were still calling out for someone to know their story and come help them.
Mathew 25: 40--45
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these
my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me
no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then
shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and
did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least
of these, ye did it not to me.
So let’s do what we can for the living before they depart …….
